The Rocky Road to St Patrick's Day
The Ramparts really missed being out and about singing on the streets of Dublin this year for St Patrick's Day. Luckily, a few weeks before, we shot this pint-filled performance of The Rocky Road To Dublin in the Stags Head pub and were able to share it online to mark Paddy's Day.
The song's arrangement is by Martin Koren Nesheim and was made famous by Norwegian choir Trondhjems Studentersangforening. We had such a fun time making this video and hope you'll join us in raising a glass of the pure to a great Irish tune.
Listen Now: Winter Wonderland
Hey Parson ⛄️Yes, that's right - we've recorded our first song. You can listen to our version of the Christmas classic ‘Winter Wonderland’ in HD quality now.
We were also delighted that RTÉ Lyric FM included our recording in their Choirs for Christmas 2019 Competition.

For our second ever headlining gig, we took the Ramparty to Liberty Hall Dublin on 23 June 2019. WW1 Standing Down Ceremony
The Ramparts were honoured to be asked to perform at the WW1 ‘standing down’ ceremony for The Haunting Soldier/An Saighdiúir Taibhsiúil in Stephen's Green, Dublin. Such a powerful and moving event to be a part of. We performed 'All The Fine Young Men' which was one of the first songs The Ramparts learned to sing together 3 years ago. A beautiful song with a powerful message.
We’re super excited to finish off an epic year by bringing the Ramparty to Electric Picnic 2018! 🎶🙌🏻 🎪🎫🏕🎤🎶
Be sure to look out for us on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of September on The Hazelwood stage and in The Flying Machine Cafe ! 🍂🌳🌲🍄
Summer Ramparty: The Sugar Club
Ramparts history was made in The Sugar Club, Dublin on Saturday 14th July 2018 as we hosted our first ever gig. After 2.5 years, 2 TV shows and an international tour it was definitely time for us to headline our own show. It was the best feeling ever to play to a packed out crowd at home with our friends and family in Dublin.
We've already started planning the next show - watch this space!
Summer Ramparty: Marbella Edition
We took The Ramparty to sunny Marbella this June 2018 in partnership with Project Music Management. It was an amazing summer trip as we played a 5-night sold out tour in Velvet, Avanto Events: Salida Del Sol and Finca La Donaira.
Of course there was some cheeky busking in Old Marbella which even made it all the way home through BreakingNews.ie
See more below.
The Ramparts Got Talent
We took part in the first ever series of 'Ireland's Got Talent on TV3. Singing one of our favs 'Hello Mary Lou', the judges were all a fluster. We had Michelle Visage, Louis Walsh and Denise Van Outen on their feet... but one of them is gonna take more convincing. Check it out below.
The Ramparts join Santa in Dundrum
We were super excited and to help Santa in the opening of his grotto in Dundrum Town Centre this Christmas. Santa did make a few detours along the way, but with help from famous Youtubers, Little Kelly and Sharky, we sang him to safety. It's amazing what a little 'Jing-Jing-a-ling' can do.
You'd better watch what went down here.
Well, it's been one crazy month for us since Pitch Battle aired on BBC One. After catching wind of our Falling Slowly performance on twitter, Once The Musical's leading 'Guy', Brian Gilligan invited us to join the cast on stage at The Olympia Theatre, Dublin. It's one of the most iconic Irish venues that's opened its doors to so many great acts like Adele, Hozier and The Killers; it was a true honour to be there.
We were lucky to get to see the amazing show before joining the cast on stage for an acapella rendition of 'Falling Slowly'. Of course we caught it all on video so you can watch too... It was a Once in a lifetime experience and we can't thank the cast and team enough!
If you haven't seen it already Once The Musical runs in the Olympia Theatre, Dublin until August 26th 2017.
Caught on the DART
Five fellow Ramparts were caught mid song on the last DART last weekend. After an exciting gig on the 'Malahide Has It' Festival stage some of us took the last DART home . In an almost empty carriage we broke into a sleepy rendition of our beloved 'On Raglan Road' made famous by Luke Kelly.
One of the few passengers, Valerie Ringrose Fitzsimons, managed to catch all on camera and shared it on YouTube and Facebook. To our surprise we woke up on Sunday morning to find the video trending online. It was shared by the likes of Dublin Live, The Irish Independent, Radio Nova and Lovin Dublin.
Arranged by the superb Barry Finn, 'On Raglan Road' is a song that's very close to our Ramp-hearts and we're so happy to hear such positive reactions from you guys!
The Ramparts take Pitch Battle by storm!
Last weekend we made our TV debut on BBC one's Pitch Battle. We hosted a screening event in The Grand Social inviting all our Rampart friends and family. The entire night was just such a surreal experience.
We opened the show with the Barden Bellas Pitch Perfect classic 'Turn the beat around' as part of a Rhythm Opener with six other acts; Crescendos, The Vocalities, Tring Park 16, The Oxford Alternotives and VoxXover. We performed Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You' as our Showstopper and took on an amazing all female group, The Vocalities for a wedding themed riff-off.
We were shocked and amazed to make it through to the Solo Battles where our youngest Rampart, Ruairi (Ruju) took centre stage. He pulled on Ireland and The UK's heartstrings with a rendition of Glen Hansard's 'Falling Slowly'. This helped us progress into the Final Battle against the triple threat mixed group from London, Tring Park 16. Performing a duet of DNCE's 'Kissing Strangers' we were joined on stage by celebrity guest judge, Joe Jonas.
Joe chose Tring Park 16 to advance to this weekend's final and we have to say it was an honour to share the stage with such talent. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Pitch Battle and still can't believe we even took part let alone made it so far!
Take a look at our youtube channel to catch up on all our performances in crispy, multi-angled HD!
Take a trip to paradise with our Joe Show Cover
The Ramparts stopped by The Joe Show last Tuesday to sing 'Baby On Board' as part of their Magic Cover Sessions. You may remember this 'mighty nice' song was made famous by Homer Simpson's barbershop quartet, The Be Sharps. It was so much fun to perform and we think it shows!
The Ramparts want to win The Magic Cover and this is decided by the amount of Facebook likes the video receives.

The Ramparts go viral with Father Ted
Last week The Ramparts had an impromptu sing-song of 'My Lovely Horse' on Grafton Street, Dublin. It's something we've done many times before but no one could prepare us for what happened next.
A passer by recorded a video of us that raked in over 120,000 views on Facebook in just a few days. It was shared by The Irish Independent, The Irish Examiner, Belfast Telegraph, Lovin Dublin and Insta Ireland to name a few. Songwriters of 'My Lovely Horse', The Divine Comedy tweeted and shared the video on Facebook calling it a '#DivineCover'.
To say we're overwhelmed is an understatement. Thanks so much to everyone that liked, shared and commented. It's shaping up to be an epic year for The Ramparts so far. Let the Ramparty begin!
